Company Settings and Configuration
BuilderMate is designed to adapt to the way your business works — not the other way around. The Configuration page lets you customize the dropdowns, statuses, and options that appear throughout the platform so everything matches your workflow.

Admin users only.
Where to Find It
Navigate to Settings > Configuration from the sidebar.
What You Can Configure
Lead Sources
Define where your leads come from. Each source has a name and a color badge for easy visual identification in lists and pipeline views.
Common examples: Website, Referral, Google Ads, Facebook, Angi, HomeAdvisor, Yard Sign, Walk-in, Repeat Client.
Lead Statuses
Define the stages a lead moves through in your sales process. These become the columns in your Pipeline view and the options in status dropdowns.
Common examples: New, Contacted, Appointment Set, Estimate Sent, Follow Up, Negotiation, Won, Lost.
Project Statuses
Define the lifecycle stages for your projects.
Common examples: Lead, Proposal, Sold, Permitting, In Progress, Punch List, Completed, Warranty, Closed.
Project Types
Categorize the types of work your company performs. Project types are used for filtering, reporting, and linking quote templates.
Common examples: Kitchen Remodel, Bathroom Remodel, Addition, New Construction, Roofing, Siding, Deck, Landscaping, Commercial Tenant Improvement.
Change Order Types
Classify why change orders happen on your projects.
Common examples: Client Requested, Design Change, Unforeseen Conditions, Code Requirement, Value Engineering.
Task Statuses
Define the stages tasks move through. These become the columns in the task Pipeline view.
Common examples: To Do, In Progress, Review, Blocked, Completed.
Managing Any Configuration Item
Every category above supports the same set of actions:
- Add — Click the add button, enter a name, and optionally assign a color.
- Edit — Click an existing item to update its name or color.
- Delete — Remove items you no longer need.
- Reorder — Drag and drop items to control the order they appear in dropdowns and pipeline views.
- Set Default — Choose which value is pre-selected when creating new records.
- Set Color — Assign a color for visual identification across the platform.
Pro Tip: Spend 15 minutes setting up your lead sources and statuses before your team starts using BuilderMate. Getting these right from the start means cleaner data and more accurate reports down the road.
Schedule Settings
Meeting Types
Define the types of appointments your team schedules. These appear as options when creating calendar events.
Common examples: Initial Consultation, Site Visit, Estimate Walkthrough, Progress Meeting, Final Walkthrough, Inspection.
Appointment Reminders
- Enable or disable reminders for upcoming appointments.
- Set timing — choose when reminders are sent: 1 hour, 2 hours, or 24 hours before the appointment.
Appointment Update Notifications
Choose how your team is notified when appointments change:
- SMS
- Both
- None
Quote Settings
Disclaimer Text
Set a default disclaimer that appears on all new quotes. This saves you from typing it manually every time and ensures consistency across your team. You can still edit the disclaimer on individual quotes when needed.
PDF Header Color
Use the color picker to set the header color on your quote PDFs. This is a simple way to match your brand colors across all client-facing documents.
Good to Know
- Renaming a status or source updates it everywhere that value is used — existing records will reflect the new name.
- Deleting a status doesn't delete the records that used it, but you'll want to reassign those records to a current status.
- Reordering items with drag-and-drop controls the display order in dropdowns and pipeline columns. Put your most-used items near the top for faster selection.
- Changes to configuration settings take effect immediately for all users on your team.
